Here's a snapshot in time of crowdfunding stuff that I think is worth looking at for various reasons. I just backed a few things but I won't post them here since you can't, at time of reading, look at this stuff. So, there's that.

Rosenstrasse is based in history but the page says you don't need historical expertise to play it. I wasn't familiar with the historical stuff before hearing about it but if I'm understanding things correctly, it's about dynamics between Germans and Jews, as well as dynamics between men and women, in WWII Germany. I don't know what else to say about this other than it seems to be trying to expand the bounds of what an RPG can be about.

The Great American Novel: A Roleplaying Game is one of those things that I am probably smack in the middle of a Venn diagram for. I did graduate work in writing, which I ultimately didn't finish, in part because of the tension between literary and genre writing (even though literary writing is a genre). I have also played roleplaying games or done roleplaying type things for close to 30 years now. But I know trying to storymake something, especially in a literary sense, out of a roleplaying game is going to seem misguided, if not pretentious, to a lot of people. I can't help being what I am, though.

Master of the Rogue Spire is one of those things that tries to unite old time sensibilities with design impulses from a newer age. It's part of the ZineQuest initiative and has some appeal to me because I like stuff that does this since I like bridging gaps. Again, it's what I seem to be.
